Superhero cakes are easy to create - depending how crafty you are with icing and lollies you can make a simple mask, cape or superhero symbol cake. If you are a little more adventurous you could try for a superhero body outline or face. To get some useful visual inspiration visit this website.
The kids'll have loads of fun making their own Superhero insignia shirts. Buy a few packages of plain white T-shirts. Beforehand, get a few pieces of cardboard and cut out templates of Superhero emblems such as a lightening bolt in a circle for Flash, a bat signal for Batman, a big W for Wonder Woman, a diamond with an S for Superman, etc. The kids pick the logo they want and paint it onto the front of their shirts.
Get a Superhero comic book or print out Superhero coloring pages from the internet and let the kids color them. Give each kid two coloring pages and provide them with crayons, markers, stickers, glitter, etc. Then give each kid a thin piece of cardboard the size of a coloring page (for stiffening the placemats) and let them glue on the two pages, one on each side (don't forget to write each childs name on it). Then, cover the cardboard with Contact paper to protect it.
Prepare a collection of small pieces of coloured cloth and stitch some ribbons to the top making superhero capes. Let each party guest dress up in their favourite colour then have them compete in a running race to see who is the fastest. Let them swap capes to see if they get faster in one colour or another. Run some races backwards and around in circles to give some variety and excitement!
